IMPORTANT This notice supersedes all other subscription information
on this site. A Page from Baseball’s Past was one of the longest running pre-game radio
shows in the history of major league baseball (26 years). The story series
continues in a paid subscription enhanced text form, and is now titled, Pages from Baseball’s Past. “If history were taught in the form of
stories, it would never be forgotten.” “The
basic principle of Pages from Baseball’s
Past is to simply tell a good baseball story that is also true and well
researched. The final key component is to keep it brief, not to overwhelm the
readers with a long research article but to simply tell a good story in a few
pages. It is meant to be more entertainment than education, but I would
consider it a failure if it weren’t also gently teaching the readership about
the history of the game, which is in part learning the cultural history of
our country. “My
grandfather was born in 1884 and passed in 1988. He had a lot to share, and
his stories were how I first learned about the history of the game and became
interested in it. Those stories taught me a lot, but really, first and
foremost, they were interesting stories.”

be a published volume 2 of “Pages from Baseball’s Past”? Not at this time. In 2019 ACTA Sports said
they would be interested in doing a sequel titled “The Black Sox … 100 Years
Later: More Pages from Baseball’s Past.” They wanted to do a shorter book
this time, and hold down production costs with fewer pictures and none in
color. After I agreed to all that, they sent me an email saying that they had
decided not to do the book. That’s how the book business goes. I seriously considered self-publishing, but
ultimately decided I was a writer with no real interest in taking on the time
and effort of being a publisher as well. I’m not saying I will never do a
sequel to the book, but only that I will not go the self-publishing route. On the chance that the right publisher is out
there and you wish to be on a reminder list for any future books from the
story series, add your name to our mailing list. Click
